There are lots of spiritual practices out there, and if I’m honest, I don’t think we need to be doing all of them.
But there are a few things I’ve come back to again and again over the years because they genuinely help me feel clearer, stronger and more connected to myself.
So today I thought I’d give you my own little 10/10 list.
Not because they’ll magically fix your life overnight. But because practised consistently, they can really change the way you move through it.

1. Protect your attention
Your attention is energy.
Notice how much of yours is going to things that leave you anxious, irritated, comparing yourself or worrying about things you can’t control.
You don’t have to give everything access to you.
2. Learn what your own energy feels like
This one is so important.
Spend enough quiet time with yourself that you start recognising your natural state.
Then it becomes much easier to notice when you’ve become overwhelmed, emotionally full or affected by something around you.
3. Stop ignoring the first feeling
I’ve learnt over the years that the first little impression is often the one we immediately talk ourselves out of.
Notice it before the analysing begins.
You don’t have to act on everything you feel, but at least give yourself the chance to hear it.
4. Have moments where nobody can reach you
No phone. No messages. No other people’s opinions.
Just ten quiet minutes where nothing is being asked of you.
We don’t realise how much noise we carry until we finally switch some of it off.
5. Release the day before you go to sleep
I don’t like taking everybody’s conversations, worries and energy into bed with me.
Take a few breaths and consciously tell yourself:
“Whatever I don’t need to carry into tomorrow, I release now.” Simple, but powerful.
6. Question the beliefs you’ve had for years
Some of the things we believe about ourselves were never really ours.
Someone said something. Something happened.
We decided what it meant about us. And then we carried that story for twenty years.
Every so often, ask yourself: “Do I actually still believe this?”
7. Follow what gives you energy
Pay attention to the things that make you feel more alive.
The idea you keep thinking about.
The thing you could talk about for hours.
The place you keep feeling drawn towards.
I think our energy often tells us something before our logical mind catches up.
8. Stop making every difficult season mean you’re going backwards
Sometimes you’re healing.
Sometimes you’re shedding something.
Sometimes you’re simply being asked to slow down.
Not every uncomfortable season is a sign you’ve taken the wrong path.
9. Become comfortable saying no
One of the most spiritual things you can learn is a boundary.
You can be loving and still say no.
You can care about someone and still protect your energy.
You can be a good person without constantly abandoning yourself.
10. Trust yourself more than you did yesterday
This is probably the one I’d put at the top of the list if I could.
Spiritual development, healing, intuition, personal growth... so much of it eventually comes back to self-trust.
Not having every answer. Not always getting it right. Just knowing that you can listen to yourself, learn, adjust and keep going. And perhaps that’s what becoming “successful” really means to me now.
Not creating a perfect life.
But creating one where you feel connected to yourself, responsible for your energy and brave enough to follow what feels true for you.
That’s a very powerful place to live from.
Which one of these do you think you need most at the moment?
With love,
Michelle
