Why safety is the secret key to Spirit connection🗝️

Hello, lovely souls,

I want to talk about something today that I see come up time and time again in my readings and workshops.

It’s that moment of frustration when you are trying so hard to connect. You are sitting in meditation, you are asking for a sign, you are pleading to hear from a loved one... and all you get is silence.

We often think the blockage is spiritual. We worry that our vibration isn't high enough, or that we "aren't gifted enough."

But the truth? It is rarely a spiritual block. It is usually a nervous system response.

 

The Biology of Connection

As a medium, I have learned that our physical bodies are the instruments through which Spirit plays. If the instrument is tight, tense, or bracing for impact, the music cannot flow.

Here is the science behind the spirituality:

  • Survival Mode: When you are stressed, anxious, or rushing, your body goes into "Fight or Flight." Biologically, your brain is scanning for danger. It is looking for a tiger in the bushes. When your brain is hyper-focused on survival, it naturally shuts down the subtle sensory pathways required to sense Spirit.

  • Safety Mode: This is the "Rest and Digest" state. This is the state of surrender. Only when your body knows it is safe from physical threats will it allow your consciousness to expand into the invisible realms.


You cannot force a Flower to Open

Think of your intuition like a deer in the forest. If you run toward it, yelling and demanding it show itself, it will bolt. But if you sit quietly, softly, and create a safe space, it will eventually step into the clearing.

Spirit requires a soft landing.

If you are carrying the weight of the world, high cortisol levels, or unaddressed trauma, your energetic "antenna" is jammed with static. You are not broken; you are just busy surviving.


How to Create Safety for Spirit

Before you try to open your third eye or connect with the other side, you must first tell your body: "I am safe here."

Here are three gentle ways to prep your nervous system for connection:

  1. The Double Inhale: Take two short inhales through the nose (without exhaling in between) followed by a long, slow exhale through the mouth. This is the fastest biological way to reset your nervous system.

  2. Ground Before You Rise: You cannot reach high if you are not rooted deep. Visualize roots growing from your feet into the earth. Feel the heaviness of gravity. Spirit is high frequency, but it needs a grounded vessel to hold it.

  3. Hand on Heart: Place one hand on your heart and one on your belly. Physically touching your own body sends a signal of containment and safety to your brain.


A Gentle Reminder

Please be kind to yourself. If you are going through a stressful season, it is okay if your connection feels a little quieter. Spirit hasn't left you. Your loved ones haven't gone anywhere. They are just waiting for the noise to settle so their whispers can be heard.

Make your body a safe home, and the guests will arrive.
